Matt Pope was born in Columbus, Georgia in 1968. He graduated from Auburn University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. Matt earned his juris doctor (law degree) from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1995.
Matt Pope’s Experience
Matt spent the first 5 years of his practice working as an associate with a large Plaintiffs’ firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases, class actions and complex consumer litigation. In 2001, he left that practice to start his own firm and has since been exclusively involved in representing injured Plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Matt is a member of the Georgia and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of Georgia and various other professional and legal associations. Matt has served on the Editorial Board of the Tort and Insurance Practice (“TIPS”), and on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee within the American Bar Association. In his community, Matt has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
Matt has tried a number of civil trials to jury verdict in both the State and Superior Courts in both the Atlanta and the Columbus Judicial Circuits. His areas of Practice include plaintiffs personal injury, car wrecks, defective pharmaceuticals and medical device litigation, defective motor vehicle design, insurance disputes, including wrongful and/ or bad faith denial of claims, premises liability, dog bites, tractor trailer accidents and injury, military law, wrongful death and slip and fall law.
